OUR PEOPLE

Simply put, we are a group of people with a love for wine, a group of vintners and winemakers who combine extensive experience and an endless passion to create only the finest wines. Of international standard, our wines are infused with the values which have taken root in us, the wine people, over the years:

respect for the land, humility in the face of nature, love for vines, passion for wine, and professional excellence. These are wines created for people, by people.

ILAN HASSON

Co-Founder & Chairman

A veteran of the Israeli wine industry, Ilan served as CEO of Binyamina Winery for more than two decades. He also founded the Cave Winery before deciding to step back from the wine industry and explore other avenues. But wherever he went, his deep love and passion for wine continued to burn brightly within him. And so, in 2014, in collaboration with his closest friends, Ilan founded Five Stones Vineyards. It began as a small, personal, and non-commercial project aimed at producing top-quality wine for friends, family, and fellow connoisseurs. But it wasn’t long before the uniqueness, creativity, and inspiration embedded in every Five Stones Vineyard wine blossomed into unbelievable success. Now producing and exporting roughly 100,000 bottles of wine a year, Five Stones Vineyards continues to thrive.

SASSON BEN-AHARON

Co-founder & Chief Winemaker

Sasson holds a master’s degree in Wine Chemistry from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Faculty of Agriculture in Rehovot, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University’s Faculty of Natural Sciences. Through his decades of rich, diverse experience in all aspects of the wine industry he has come to hold the post of Chief Winemaker at Israel’s most prestigious wineries.
A talented professional whose respect and humility belie his peerless expertise, Sasson has meticulously crafted the flavors and character of our signature wines – our pride and joy. His fingerprints are evident in every bottle that comes out of the winery and onto the shelves: select, high quality, and unique taste.
Sasson is present throughout every stage of the winemaking process. From planting to ripening to preparation for the first harvest.
From deciding on the harvest date to directing the right grape to the right wine. He consciously accompanies each step of the journey.

OFRA GANOR

Co-founder

One of Israel’s most established and highly respected restaurateurs, Ofra is the owner of Tel Aviv’s iconic Manta Ray restaurant. For many years, she has been co-chair of the Israel Restaurant, Cafe & Bar Association, as well as the woman behind Tel Aviv’s Taste of the City Festival. She previously owned HaTaboon, Lilit, and Yona at Jaffa Port, and was the founder of the Iceberg ice cream parlor chain.
When Ofra – known for her relentless pursuit of excellence – chose to join the Five Stones Vineyards project, we saw this as an unequivocal sign of her belief in the winery’s vision: uncompromising quality and a fresh market offering.

AMIT KAUFMAN

Co-Founder

An acclaimed chef with extensive restaurant experience in both Israel and France, Amit is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. . He is a co-owner of the Mazal Talle, Feed Your Mind, and Taam Vatzeva catering companies and has amassed decades of in-depth experience in the culinary world. Ilan and Amit walked side-by-side for two decades through their professional careers – and so it came as no surprise when they became collaborators on the Five Stones Vineyards project. Amit’s contribution is evident in many of the winery’s activities, and we are thrilled about his integral role in Five Stone Vineyards.

Wine matures so well with age, we want to make sure you’re just as mature.
