The Five Stones Cognac offers a glimpse into another era. Distilled when the Cold War was still a prominent topic, its youngest eau-de-vie has matured over decades, paralleling the growing friendship between Five Stones Vineyards founder Ilan Hasson and Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen, who became the fourth-generation leader of his family’s Cognac house in 2009.
This unique Cognac originates primarily from the Fins Bois terroir near the Gironde Estuary, where the soil mirrors that of the Médoc region in Bordeaux on the river’s western bank. It is a blend of Fins Bois and Petite Champagne eaux-de-vie, aged for decades in sealed small casks. Though old Fins Bois cognacs are rare due to their delicate aging process, when aged successfully, they offer exceptional warmth and roundness. The result is a Cognac with flavors of dried and candied fruits, a rich and smooth texture, and a long, lingering finish.

FIVE STONES XO COGNAC
A cognac for connoisseurs, matured and aged at the Bache-Gabrielsen distillery in France’s Cognac region, carrying with it distinctive flavors and qualities from decades past. It blends Colombard, Ugni Blanc, and Folle Blanche grapes from selected Grande and Petite Champagne vineyards in the Cognac region. The cognac is distilled in a Bain-Marie still pot, following a secret recipe that has been passed down for more than four generations at the distillery, boasting a worldwide, leading-quality reputation. This blend combines special varieties grown in the unique local terroir, creating a distinctive, rare product with notes of dried and candied fruits, rich flavors, and a lasting smoothness on the palate. The combination of varieties introduces extraordinary power while also striking a harmonious balance within the blend. Today, after aging for 30 years in the distillery’s cellars to achieve the ideal balance of flavors, we present this to you with immense love and pride.
